The playoff-bound Chicago White Sox added some reinforcements on Thursday, reinstating left-handers Aaron Bummer and Carlos Rodon from the 45-day injured list.
The White Sox also designated right-hander Steve Cishek and left-hander Ross Detwiler for assignment before Thursday night's series finale at Cleveland.
Bummer, 27, was placed on the injured list on Aug. 8 with a left biceps strain and transferred to the 45-day IL on Sept. 5. He is 1-0 with a 1.23 ERA and 12 strikeouts over seven appearances in 2020. Bummer's last appearance was against the Indians on Aug. 7, when he worked 1 2/3 scoreless innings.
Rodon, 27, has been on the shelf since Aug. 4 with left shoulder soreness. He was moved to the 45-day IL on Sept. 13. He is 0-1 with a 9.53 ERA over two starts this season and has not pitched since Aug. 3 at Milwaukee.
Cishek, 34, has yet to record a decision and owns a 5.40 ERA with 21 strikeouts in 22 relief appearances this season.
Detwiler, 34, is 1-1 with a 3.20 ERA and 15 strikeouts in 16 relief appearances.
Following the moves, the White Sox roster remains at 40.
