In its commitment to shaping a brighter future for orphans and underprivileged children in Uganda, the Katakala Community Foundation has initiated a notable fundraising campaign with the objective of revamping an orphanage. The foundation's primary focus revolves around instilling hope among the youth of the region through the provision of free education programs, while also nurturing their artistic and athletic abilities in music, dance, and sports.
As the number of orphans and vulnerable children continues to increase in the Mityana Municipality, the Katakala Community Foundation has recognized the urgent need for support. In order to address this pressing issue, they have launched a GoFundMe campaign (https://gofund.me/eca29493) to raise funds for renovating the existing rooms of the orphanage. Additionally, the foundation aims to construct a larger learning space and shelter that can accommodate a greater number of orphans and less privileged children throughout Africa.
A spokesperson from the foundation expressed the dire conditions the children currently face, stating, 'The old building had leaking roofs that caused the beds of the 125 children to get flooded whenever it rained. Furthermore, there simply isn't enough space to house all 125 children, let alone any additional ones. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a tremendous difference to this project.'
Established in 2016 in Mityana, Uganda, Africa, the Katakala Community Foundation is a charity organization that provides care and support to 125 orphaned and impoverished children. Their comprehensive assistance includes free access to education, shelter, food, and medical care. The foundation's overarching mission is to combat poverty through education and skills development, ensuring that young individuals are equipped with the necessary life skills and knowledge to become self-sufficient, productive, and independent citizens of Africa.
